Holiday Inn Express - New Albany

The breakfast was ideal, with good selections of hot and cold breakfasts. The hotel was easy to get to, just off the highway, but slightly secluded for a nice quiet stay. Although we didn't use it, I did notice a park very close to the hotel so great for families with kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the hotel and the area.

The person serving the hot breakfast was a real chef who has a second job at the races where he has served 8 former Presidents. Eggs, sausage or bacon, coffee, fruit juices, and more every morning. Our bed was fluffy and had enough pillows. Plenty of free parking. I forgot to take a picture of it, but a long bench to sit on for putting on shoes etc. in our room and over the bench were three double hooks for hats and coats. I have never seen this in a hotel before. Desk chair and a desk. Very large flat screen TV. with a good collection of stations to watch. Cleaning service everyday. They did not throw away the bar of soap that you were still using. They replaced the box of kleenex when it was empty. Plenty of towels and toilet paper. Good lighting: reading lamp over a nice chair, bedside lamps, hall light, desk lamp, large lighted mirror in the bathroom. Internet worked most of the time. Safe in the room. Ironing board and iron. Hair dryer. Ice machine on every floor. Getting across the bridge to downtown Louisville took at the most 20 minutes. Lots of restaurants on the New Albany side not far by car from the hotel. It was great staying in a location with small town vibe across the bridge from a larger one.

Great location for us

The beds were SO COMFY. Breakfast was delicious, even though the pancake machine wasn't working. But that happens, and the staff tried to help! I had children with me and they placed us around other children, which I like because I'm always super nervous we will disrupt someone's stay that doesn't understand children. The location was amazing- we were staying to attend a softball tournament. It was less than 10 minutes away from the field.

Breakfast was fantastic! ~ Lot of hot options and egg white omelets were very tasty! Also, a lot of on-the-go options. We had the King suite which worked out very well for us. Very short commute to the KICC. Definitely will stay here again next year for the Adidas Bluegrass Volleyball Tournament
